Visual Processing
A perceptual or visual processing disorder refers to difficulties interpreting or processing information taken in visually. Students with perceptual issues have difficulty interpreting the spatial relationships of objects in space. Visual processing effects reading, writing and mathematics. These students have difficulties with symbols such as reversals with letters and numbers ( b for d, p for q, backwards numbers (especially 3 and 5), confusing place value, etc.).
